A Day In the Life of [TIZ] Benson Chou

So my only class on Fridays in Spanish at 9am, and after that, it's a free day for me. Didn't have any other plans, so I figured I'd follow my buddy Benson around for the day, help him out with anything he might need help with, and document it with a crack-load of pictures (276, to be exact).

Today was going to be an extra-busy day for Benson. Today's schedule: 5 photoshoots, mail at package at UPS, and rehearsal for Saturday's fashion show at 4:30pm.

It all started at around 11:30, when I met with Benson and Kevin.

Stopped by the Freeborn Hall ticket office to snag a few more tickets for some friends

And after that it was photoshoot time for [Chinese Yoyoist] Kevin.

Homie's got some serious Chinese Yo-Yo skills...

...and a mean look to match it, haha.

Afterward it was [Dancer] Sarah's turn

She's got some serious dance skills...

wooosh

Benson was sure to get the angles

After an hour-and-a-half of photoshoots, we took a break and went to the local UPS to ship a box of 50 shirts to a very interested vendor/friend in Washington D.C.

Benson's friend helped us through all the paperwork

After that it was back to SocSci for more photoshoots

Met up with homeboy/[Pro Model] Eric

Afterward we had to email Amy, one of the fashion show's event organizers, a high-res TIZ logo to use for the projector screen for the show.

Little did I know that some parts of SocSci actually get wireless.

A little bit later, [Breaker] Chris showed up for his shoot

Chris has got some moves as well

And...

Boom.

"How 'bout some jumping shots?"

Before we knew it we were doing crazy stuff with the wall

which way is down?
IONO.

After a little while [Breaker] Jobu stopped by

Had some recommendations on poses for Chris
But Chris went on with his own thing.

After a good 30 min of shooting, we kinda stood around for a bit

Took some weird pictures.

Oh yeah, Kevin was having some serious back pain after spending several hours bent over picking up little staples off the ground for the staple gun to make a canvas, so we recommended he lay down for a bit...

And as we waited for our second-to-last model, Julia, we went to grab some lunch.

Nom-nom-nom salad?
Aaaandd... [Hot Model] Julia showed up.

She hella cute. There's no denying that.

Took a quick break for a change of pants, so we figured we'd mess with Kevin a bit...
Nothing like a little fun between roommates :P

Aaannddd, back to Julia :)

Shirt change

hella pro

And before we knew it we were done, and waiting for DKwan, so we had some fun with my camera

The first picture of me for the whole day, haha

Benson was relieved that we were almost done with photoshoots... but the day was barely half over for any of us.

Oh, my...

Ohhh, my...
*Nods head in disgust*

Unfortunately I didn't get any shots of DKwan's photoshoot, since Kevin and I needed to go pick up Billy and his gear for our rehearsal that afternoon. After picking up Billy and dropping him and Kevin off at the ARC, I headed back to the MU to pick up Benson and Julia, and it was off to the ARC for us.

When we got there, however, the Pavilion, where we usually practice, was being used for a badminton tournament, so we were forced outside into the courtyard...

Jobu was definitely feeling it
So was Sarah

And just as Gabi was all warmed up...
...we were kicked out after 20 mintues. Apparently you have to pay to use the courtyard. Wtf, we already pay $15,000/year in tuition... >:( So we were forced to find another place yet again

We eventually found ourselves at the top of the SciLec parking structure

Lucky it was nice out

Still lookin' good, Julia.

Billy was all set to shred

We were all set up to walk

Our makeshift runway was represented by several backpacks, a laptop charger cord, and some bikes xD

And after an hour and a half of run-throughs and rehearsals, it was finally time to call it a day

It was 6:30pm when we packed it all up. First we dropped off Billy, and then me. While my day was over, Benson still had hella stuff to get done in preparation for tomorrow. Blog entries, website updates, shirt packing and organization, you name it.

Good luck, buddy!

See you tomorrow mayne.

The fashion show is Saturday, March 14 at Freeborn Hall at UC Davis, and starts at 7:30pm sharp. Tickets are $5. Freeborn's capacity is 1,000 people, and they've already sold around 600 tickets; the rest will probably go at the door tomorrow night, so you better jump in it quick! TIZ will be on at around 8:30pm-ish, the first group right after the intermission. Hope to see some of you there!
